The Idaho Woodshop Company Quality Guarantee

At The Idaho Woodshop Company, we pride ourselves on being your go-to manufacturer in lodge furniture and rustic decorating accessories. We offer rustic and log furniture consisting of Alder, Reclaimed Barn Wood, Hickory and Pine. Let’s not stop there. Our manufacturer’s agreements allow for custom orders. If there is another choice in wood let us check with our supplier.

What is "Rustic"?

Our furniture comes from quality hand crafted American woodworkers. They take pride in providing quality rustic furniture that enhance the quality of your life. The furniture you purchase from us should be rich in texture and reflect in detail workmanship of its crafter.

Cracks, beetle trails, knots and variations in wood color only enhance a rustic furniture look. Yet they should not compromise the strength of cottage furniture bed frames, the integrity of teak furniture dresser drawers or interfere with the way barn wood furniture or log vanity cabinet doors function.

If natural cracks or knots happen to affect the structural integrity of the wood used to make the rustic country furniture you’ve purchased from us and it’s still under warranty, we’ll be happy to replace it. In the off chance you’ve received a product that appears to be defective, contact our Customer Service team.

Payment and Payment Types

You will be charged in-full for your order at the time of check out. All of our wood furnishings are made to order and a no return policy once ordered. Also it allows us to reserve any décor items that may be on back order.

Warranty and Returns

(30) Day No-Hassle Returns

The Idaho Woodshop Company offers a (30) thirty day no-hassle return policy for reasons other than a suspected manufacturing defect. We only ask you contact our Customer Service with your order number and the reason for the return. This way we can process your return expeditiously.

Please note all returned décor items are charged a handling fee of $10.00 and it will be deducted from any entitled refund.

All online purchases are your responsibility to verify the accuracy of the order in its items number, size, color and/or wood type, along with the amount billed. If any discrepancies should occur, please contact us within 24 hours of said purchase.

It is also import to note that once a product is in route any change of destination will be at the expense of the customer.

Non-Returnable Items and we cannot accept returns on any of the following items:

  • Opened or Used Rustic Bedding/Soft Goods
  • Clearance Furniture or Decor Items
  • Custom and/or Other Made-to-Order Furniture
  • Log or Rustic Furniture
  • Items Not Assigned a Return Merchandise Authorization or RMA #

Restocking Fees:

What a "Restocking Fee?"

When perfectly usable items are returned, time and money must be spent putting them back into stock. A restocking fee covers a portion of the costs associated with that task and helps reputable companies like The Idaho Woodshop Company keep costs and prices low – for everyone.

Restocking fees vary from company to company. In some instances a restocking charge could be as high as 30% of the item’s original value. The Idaho Woodshop Company continues to work with its vendors to bring you the best rate available. The restocking amount gets deducted from any refund you may be entitled to – along with the item’s initial shipping and handling costs that we paid to ship it to you.

Our Return Process:

  1. Contact Us:

The first step in the return process is to call or email our Customer Service team. At that time, you will be assigned a dedicated Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number. Without one, your return can and may be denied.

  1. Get Packing:

Carefully pack your return items in the box they arrived in along with their original packing materials. Suitable substitutes are new boxes, bubble wrap, etc. Sorry, but JHE’s cannot accept returned goods which become damaged as a result of poor packaging.

  1. Use Your Return Merchandise Authorization Number:

Clearly mark your return package and return label with your pre-assigned. We reserve the right to deny any return that is not marked with (or does not include) a unique, pre-assigned RMA Number.

  1. Ship It Out:

The Idaho Woodshop will provide a return address along with your RMA Number. Your shipping number will include the name of the currier. The delivery of your return will be confirmed by signature. We recommend purchasing shipping insurance to protect yourself in case items are damaged in transit. For faster processing, e-mail your tracking number to our Customer Service team.

If return items are damaged in transit, we will contact you. We’ll then set your package aside for (30) days to give you time to file and process a claim with your shipper or carrier.

  1. Get Credit:

Once we’ve received your return item(s) and have verified that the contents of your package are accurate and have arrived unharmed, we will begin processing your credit.

Directly requesting a charge back from your bank or credit card company can delay your refund by (180) days.

Delivery and Damages:

Products can get lost or become damaged in shipping. The following are the policies of The Idaho Woodshop Company regarding delivery and damages:

Shipments by UPS or FedEx:

  • You might accept deliveries from UPS or Federal Express that may have been damaged in shipping.
  • We request you call us within 24 hours upon receipt notifying us of the any and all damages.
  • We will require you to photograph the damaged goods and email them to us.
  • At that point we will contact either UPS or Federal Express and file a claim on your behalf.
  • It is our goal to replace, repair, exchange or refund your damaged goods to insure your satisfaction.

Freight Companies:

  • Prior to signing for your delivery. It is very important you inspect the entire shipment for any possible damage regardless of its size.
  • If you have a driver who for one reason or another will not allow you to inspect individual items. Then take a visual inspection of each individual container’s exterior for any damages.
  • Review the shipping slip and note any discrepancies or damages.

  • Notations are key prior to accepting delivery. Especially in situations where you are only allowed to inspect the exterior of a container. Finding damages after accepting the shipment without the proper notations puts us in a situation where we cannot help you. At which point you have 24 hours to file the claim yourself.
  • You have the right to refuse all or part of the delivery if damage has occurred in shipping.
  • Once you sign for an item or container you have taken legal position of it.
  • Only sign for the items you are willing to accept in whole or part.


Rustic furniture is beloved for its imperfections. Burrs, knots, holes and checks are common and add charm to the wood furniture we handcraft, manufacture and sell. These characteristics are ingrained. Such merchandise is NOT recognized as "defective" or "damaged" and is not eligible for replacement.

Checking can range from slight slivers to cracks which run the full length of a log and/or run deep within it. Burrs, knots, holes and checking (as we have described it here) is completely normal and in no way affects the integrity of the wood we use or the durability of our fine rustic furniture.  Returns will not be accepted for normal checking in rustic furniture.

Our goal is to help you understand the numerous steps we take to safeguard your security. We also want to help you protect yourself.
